An integrated approach to support female health throughout the monthly cycle. Designed to manage liver, mood, energy and regulation of hormonal activity.

KEY BENEFITS

Iron & Magnesium:

  • Aids in the proper oxygenation of the blood; increasing energy and reducing fatigue, while also supporting the nervous system and immune system. They play a hugely important role in various metabolic pathways, processes and cell functions throughout the body. Magnesium, in particular, also helps with bone maintenance in synergy with L-Methionine and L-Cysteine (the importance of which is explained below).

L-Methionine & L-Cysteine:

  • Most medical intervention is designed to lower estrogen. which is associated with weak bones. In addition to this, endometriosis is an inflammatory process, with increased levels of homocysteine in the blood and follicular fluid - which has also been associated with a reduction in bone mass! These two essential amino acids work alongside B6 and Choline to promote bone maintenance by contributing to normal homocysteine metabolism and cysteine synthesis.

Guduchi Stem & Choline:

  • The liver has an important role to play in Endometriosis for many reasons. Firstly, it’s responsible for cleansing excess hormones such as estrogen. Secondly, many aspects of lipid metabolism are carried out predominantly by the liver. This is important because research suggests that abnormal lipid metabolism is involved in the pathological development of endometriosis. Both of these ingredients work together to support the liver’s cleansing action (helping the body deal with excess hormones) as well as contributing to normal lipid metabolism.

Vitamin B6 :

  • Vitamin B6 helps regulate hormonal activity - an important role for a condition like Endometriosis. It also contributes to energy, reduction of fatigue, and normal functioning of the nervous and immune systems.

Indole-3-Carbinol & Betain Hydrochloride:

  • Indole-3-Carbinol aids estrogen metabolism - particularly important as Endometriosis is an estrogen-dominant condition. Additionally, Betain Hydrochloride has been included to help the absorption of Indole-3-Carbinol.

Why we do it

We’re best known for our flagship period patches and our largest community of users suffer from Endometriosis. We like to think we have a great relationship with our customers and being a trusted brand they asked us time and time again to create vitamin supplements to help.

The problem is, menstrual health is part of a long list of taboo topics and issues which have historically been discarded as ‘girl problems.’ Endometriosis is simply not researched as well as it should be. So we got to work. We built a supplement range from the ground up, to help with the various day-to-day troubles our community wanted help with.

Research shows that taking the right nutrients and vitamins can help improve Endometriosis symptoms - and so each ingredient has been carefully picked to serve a particular purpose. They also work together in synergy to encourage overall absorption and synthesis.

That’s why you’ll notice our Plant-Picked vitamins range also includes our trademark Bloatex supplement (think endo belly!) as well as Night Time Support. So whatever you need help with to manage this incurable disease, hopefully, we have something which might help! If not, just give us a shout and we’ll add it to our product roadmap!

Our Sustainability Values

All the Periodical collections are designed with longevity in mind, with classic styles centred around season-less wardrobe essentials, for those who want to take a stand against the fast-fashion industry.

We work towards a zero-waste model, where all fabric off-cuts are turned into smaller accessories, such as scrunchies and eye masks.

All the ranges are made in small-batch production, where the fabric is hand screen printed, to limit waste from each collection to the next.

Fair Price

At Periodical we strive to provide beautiful, hand-made clothing at a fair price. We cut out the middle man and work directly with the tailors who hand screen print, cut and sew your garments. We design all the prints in-house in our London studio, meaning that we are able to offer you pieces of wearable art, with prices that are fair.

Fabric & Care

All of our ranges are made from 100% cotton.

Being made from all-natural materials make our ranges not only perfect for wearing during the day but also airy and breathable for sleeping in as pyjamas. Our fabric has been hand screen printed/dyed, therefore items may contain the odd imperfection within the print but you can rest assured that this does not take away from the quality of each piece. Every item is unique and designed with love.

We use an open weave, which make the clothing super breathable and give the fabric a lovely texture - similar to that of linen.

The cotton gets softer with every wash - just make sure to wash at 30 degrees or less in the washing machine.

Buttons made from natural shell material.
